The Sarlat Food Tour, what is it ?
It’s a gourmet stroll. Sarlat is well known for its gastronomy and its historic landmarks.

We offer a unique, original, and friendly experience. Together, we’ll enjoy a 5-hour walking tour through the heart of the city, where I’ll introduce you to the specialties of the Périgord Noir.
Between each stop along the way, I’ll share stories about life in my city.

Together, we’ll enjoy a five-hour walk through the heart of the city, where I’ll introduce you to the culinary specialties of the Périgord Noir, with the help of my local partners.
Your guide

Julien, a Sarlat native and the son of a local business owner: I grew up here, walking every street and every alley. As you can imagine, I know my city well — and I love it.

After spending over a decade in other cities and traveling through many countries, I came back to my roots.
​
Inspired by this idea, I decided to launch this project to share my vision of the city and introduce you to the cultural and culinary richness of Sarlat.

Over the course of five hours, you’ll explore the city’s historic streets while discovering the specialties of the Périgord Noir through a series of carefully selected stops.

Where should we go on the day of the tour?
​
The day before your Food Tour, you’ll receive a message (SMS or WhatsApp for international guests) with the meeting point.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via WhatsApp or SMS — I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

Do I need to be fit?
​
We’ll walk around 1 to 2 km, at a very relaxed pace.
Just make sure you come with an appetite!

It’s a 5-hour tour — are we standing the whole time?
​
No, we’ll have the opportunity to sit down at each stop.
​
What kind of food is included?
​
Local specialties — which means there will be some meat at certain stops.
​
Should I bring anything?
​
An umbrella in case of bad weather, a small backpack, and a water bottle can be useful.
​
Is the Sarlat Food Tour seasonal?
​
This food tour runs all year round.
​
How long does the tour last?
​
The average duration is around 5 hours, although it can sometimes run a little longer.
Is there a best day to go?
​
Wednesdays and Saturdays (market days) are ideal outside of July and August. During school holidays, any day is a great choice — the experience will be just as memorable.
